About Nathan Broman
An experienced educator based in Miyagi, Japan, Nathan Broman has contributed over two decades of service to MeySen Academy. After joining the school as an English conversation teacher for kindergarten and grade school students, he oversaw the instruction of more than 1,500 students as the curriculum coordinator of MeySen’s English department. Nathan Broman joined MeySen Academy’s board of directors in 2000 and returned to serve as its English department vice principal in 2013. In this capacity, Mr. Broman spearheaded the English departments at MeySen campuses in both Maruyami and Takamori, leading the instruction of more than 3,000 students until March 2015.
A dedicated humanitarian, Nathan Broman has drawn on his diverse skill set to support numerous relief efforts and charitable organizations around the world. In 2011, he helped to provide more than 100 tons of living necessities such as food, clothing, bedding, and fuel to those affected by the Japan earthquake and tsunami of 2011.
Also interested in electricity and electronics, Nathan Broman holds a US Extra Class Amateur Radio operator’s license and has developed radio equipment for use by nonprofits in locations including Cambodia, Mongolia, and Thailand. Additionally, Mr. Broman is a certified off-road driving instructor, and has provided off-road driving training to nonprofit organizations offering aid to developing countries.
